"Whilst the accommodation was very homely, peaceful, clean, unique, and overall a great experience, Fleur was a phenomenal host. She was attentive, responsive, and incredibly kind. We even happened to run into a little car trouble as we were checking out and Fleur was so understanding and accommodating which made us feel a lot more at ease. I would definitely come back to Steam, or any other properties hosted/managed by Fleur, and recommend this to anyone wanting a quick and quiet getaway. In short, great property, lovely location, and an excellent host - all in all, a great experience."

"My partner and I wanted a romantic, cosy getaway and when we saw Fleur's listing of McQueen, and the ratings and reviews, it lived up to everything we expected and beyond. Stunningly appointed, thoughtfully designed and styled to perfection in every way. You really appreciate the attention to detail in a space like this, so much so we opted to stay 'in' more than going 'out' so we could enjoy it fully. The fridge was generously stocked with lots of goodies which was a really nice touch also. Fleur was wonderful to deal with; warm, friendly and helpful with the few things we needed during our stay. We would definitely love to stay again over summer but our winter getaway with the fireplace was exactly what we wanted. Thanks again Fleur."

"We had the most amazing stay at Dufflebird Farm. It was as picturesque as the photos showed but it also had such a calming, peaceful energy. We had day trips planned in the general area but opted to stay on the property mostly and just relax. The cows in the paddocks were the icing on the cake! A great experience from the time of booking. Thank you Fleur, we will be back!"

The perfect getaway, especially for a family, being able to sprawl out over three floors was fantastic. It's a well presented property, which welcomes you like a beautiful warm, inviting hug. The best equipped kitchen I've ever stayed in, and an enormous stove. Loads of fabulous walks, Stephensons Falls and Lake Elizabeth are both amazing, and at this time of year lots of mushrooms to forage. The beds are super comfy, and toasty for our coolish weekend. Would highly recommend, thank you Fleur".

"We spent part of our honeymoon here. The place is beautiful and the host knows the little details that make you feel right at home. Created special memories. The best Airbnb I have stayed in, 10/10."

"Liptrap Loft was such a relaxing and peaceful stay. The hosts literally think of everything and the house is beautiful with the very best amenities. The fireplace and bath were my highlights, as well as waking up every morning to nature at the doorstep."

"Liptrap Loft was absolutely the best place we have stayed, ever. Everything has been considered. The buildings are stunning to look at and everything we needed was available. The Japanese bathhouse was very special and the view was stunning."

"Liptrap Loft was an absolute little gem. Clean, cosy, and clearly put together with a lot of care, everything was so well thought out, we didn't find ourselves missing a thing. Our afternoons were perfectly spent sipping wine and eating cheese (as they should be), while the days were all about fishing, exploring, and slowing down properly. The highlight? Finally spotting the local koala on our last morning after searching the whole trip, worth the wait! We loved it and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxed, easy getaway."Sarah, Liptrap Loft - April 2026

"Fleur and Lisa are such lovely and communicative hosts. They were incredibly generous with their time, even offering a reasonably long phone call to discuss bushfire safety during summer, of which I felt assured I was in fantastic hands. Whilst it is the most expensive place I have personally ever stayed, I don't think I could imagine a better place to treat myself and my friends for a relaxing weekend away. The interiors and exteriors alike are gorgeous, my friends and I were all stunned and impressed! I can really see why so many families appear to stay here, the lodge has a fantastic sense of whimsy that I think can really resonate with kids (alongside fellow nature and serenity-loving adults). I stayed here to holiday after finishing a university degree, and left it feeling the most relaxed I had felt in what feels like years prior, considering all that, I can very heartily recommend anyone interested in some relaxation and natural beauty to treat themselves to a stay

"Beautifully detailed, very comfortable and relaxing accommodation. The fire on arrival meant a warm carriage set against the cold July outside. Arriving on Monday, we enjoyed the tasting paddle of beer from Forrest Brewing in town paired with a great lunch. We had a day or two of sunshine. There are wonderful walking trails that double as bike trails. A short drive to the photogenic Stevensons Falls and a walk through Californian redwood trees. Back in Forrest, it's a short walk to the General Store in town, which is well stocked and has a selection of gourmet pies. Bower Bird Cafe in town is worth a visit. There are informative plaques and information boards throughout the town that share the interesting history of its buildings and the town of Forrest. The carriage was always toasty warm and we got stuck into board games and cards on the rainy days. The bathroom and shower was spacious with a good supply of hot water. Make sure you stop at Birregurra for their vanilla slice."

"We had a lovely stay at Steam. We loved the layout and decor, it was warm inside on a very cold weekend, and it had everything we needed for a weekend. The location in Forrest was great for hiring bikes, dinner at the Brewery and walks around town, and our dog loved the yard and walking around Lake Elizabeth. Great spot for a weekend :)"

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the unique home! The place was spotless and beautifully designed. We loved the peaceful setting and waking up to bird song. The bath was plenty hot enough on a really cold evening and we had a visit from a local rooster who was perched next to it, very amusing! Really easy hosts to communicate with. 100% recommend!"

"We had a great family stay at Fleur's place. Beautiful setting, lovely home with loads of space that still felt homely. Really well supplied kitchen with space to cook and dine for a large group. Plenty of wood for the fire, comfortable seating, nice bedrooms. Everything we needed, everything so comfortable. Highly recommended."

"Super spacious and gorgeous place with everything you need for a quality break. Lots of things to do in the area (Sandy Point, Waratah, Venus Bay, Wilsons Promontory, etc) so for us it was a perfect, private and quiet spot to use as a base. Lastly, Fleur. She has been a great host, really dedicated and accommodating. I wouldn't hesitate recommending her services."

"Value for money easily achieved. Delivered above expectations and from our worldly travels after living in 7 other countries, on 4 different continents, we have stayed in some amazing places. This Loft and the way it has been managed, run and cared for would fit successfully anywhere in the world".

"The quirky Liptrap Loft is almost Dr. Seuss Australia style, starting with the roof line. Upon entering one immediately laughs at the size of the four poster bed which is big enough for 8 people. Then opening the fridge one finds a telephone, and hot water bottle and a few other items. Only after a little more searching there is an operating fridge. Thank goodness. Filled with giggles, and quirks, and fun one checks out the outdoor Japanese bathhouse with the very quirky shower head dangling magically in space ….truly the whole experience was one big holiday from normalcy. It works. The pots and pans are best quality. The wood for the huge Coonara is plentiful if you can find the secret door! All in all we had a really lovely time, relaxing in this unique and fantastical environment. Generosity was the name of the game. Such a treat. Let your doggie friend also enjoy the whole deal. Wonderful!"

"I never imagined a place quite like this, a place where a mind could run free, a place where trains could be houses and dreams only a touch away. Even when I just sat and stared at the gardens, I knew this was a place I would love to live at. It was magic. Fairies lurking in nooks and crannies, dragons curled up in corners, even the feeling that fire sprites could be lurking, hiding amongst the piles of wood, waiting to be sparked alight by a lone match. If I closed my eyes I could imagine the person clicking away on the typewriter, endless one-sided conversations from the old phone. A writers dream only a touch away. And the day we spent walking around the lake got me thinking. ‘Why are we destroying the magic in our lives?’ Slowly as I drew a breath, I realised that we weren’t destroying magic, we were preserving it in the hands of those who dare to imagine. And I am sure that tomorrow, when the time comes to leave, the magic will call forward it’s next believer into this wonderful place, to show those who dare to come here that magic still exists."
