THE SPACE

McQueen is a self-contained, open-plan studio that blends mid-century cool with timeless modern luxury. Thoughtfully curated, light-filled, and private — it's the kind of place that makes you exhale the moment you arrive.

Perched at the highest point in Anglesea, this elevated hideaway looks out over rolling bushland toward the sea, with the Anglesea Heath and Great Otway National Park right across the road.

We've put real care into every detail — from the quality bed and well-equipped kitchen to the wood heater with wood provided and the little welcome touches we leave for every guest. Past guests have called it "pure magic," "a sanctuary," and "the perfect place to forget the world." We love that.

Like all Dufflebird properties, the essentials are taken care of so you can arrive and immediately unwind. Your private balcony and small yard are yours to enjoy at your own pace. The beaches in town are a 2-minute drive, and iconic Bells Beach is just 12 km away.

HOSTING STYLE

We're Fleur, Mike and the team behind Dufflebird Getaways — we've been hosting across Regional Victoria for over 20 years, and we genuinely love sharing this part of the world with guests who appreciate it.

You'll receive our favourite local tips before you arrive, and we're always happy to tailor recommendations — the best coffee, the quiet beaches the crowds miss, the walks worth waking up early for.

McQueen also makes an excellent base for the Great Ocean Walk, with trailheads close by and the full experience right on your doorstep.

If exploring is on the agenda, McQueen is ideally placed. The Anglesea to Lorne stretch of the Great Ocean Road is our favourite run — 28 minutes via Aireys Inlet, passing the iconic Memorial Arch.

McQueen offers something rarer — genuine comfort, complete privacy, and a space with real personality.

GUEST ACCESS

The studio and its private yard are entirely yours for the duration of your stay. The studio sits alongside our home, which means we're genuinely nearby if you ever need anything — but we completely respect your space and privacy and will never enter without your invitation or in an emergency. Think of us as hosts who are close enough to help, but relaxed enough to leave you completely to it.
