Welcome to Dufflebird Farm — 120 acres of rolling meadows, open skies, and deep country quiet, just two hours from Melbourne.

Watch the weather roll in. Sleep deeply. Stay longer than you planned.

Tucked down a quiet lane in Berrys Creek, Dufflebird Farm is the kind of place where things soften quickly — the air, the pace, your sense of time.
THE EXPERIENCE
This is a place we’ve nurtured back to life, honouring its history and our connection to the region while making it our own.
What we fell for wasn’t showy — it was the quiet rhythm of the place. Morning mist low over paddocks. Light shifting across the hills. Stillness that makes you notice how much noise you’ve been carrying. But it’s not all soft edges — subtle boldness and thoughtful details keep it interesting.
The house carries the same rhythm as the land: modern-federation bones, pared-back interiors, and space to breathe — with just enough edge to keep you noticing.
If layered, maximalist country styling is your thing, this probably isn’t your place. But if you appreciate restraint, thoughtful design, and a slower kind of luxury, you’ll feel at home.
A tree-lined driveway leads past fruit trees to the veranda-wrapped house, where light spills across hardwood floors. Living, dining, and kitchen flow onto the deck — perfect for slow mornings, long dinners, and evenings watching the light move across the paddocks.
The kitchen centres on a Falcon gas stove that invites proper cooking: slow breakfasts, shared meals, or something in the oven while you sip wine outside. It’s made for the way people actually live when they have time.
Hydronic heating keeps the house warm on cold nights, complemented by a wood fire for extra coziness. In summer, cooling and fans make it comfortable year-round.
The lounge is simple, considered, and welcoming — books worth reading, games worth playing, and a Bluetooth speaker for slow mornings or quiet evenings.
BEDROOMS
Master — Queen bed, walk-in robe, ensuite
Second — Double bed
Third — King single / small double with desk
Sleeps 5 comfortably; up to 6 by request.
THE BATHHOUSE
A short walk from the house, the bathhouse is light-filled and quiet, with bi-fold French doors opening to farmland.
~A note on the bath: It’s a standard single-person bath, designed for a slow, solo soak with a view — not sized for two. This is intentional, as the property runs entirely on collected rainwater, balancing comfort with conservation.
OUTDOORS
Wrap-around verandas and deck seating
BBQ and outdoor dining
Fruit trees and open paddocks
Circular driveway and carport
WHO IT SUITS
Dufflebird Farm is intentionally not for everyone.
It suits people who want to slow down — not fill every hour — and notice light, space, and how a place feels.
Perfect for couples, families, or small groups seeking space and stillness.
If you’re after a highly serviced, fast-paced stay, this probably isn’t the right fit.
EXPLORE
South Gippsland rewards taking your time — beaches, trails, and small towns that feel quietly themselves.
Walkerville, Waratah Bay, Sandy Point, Wilsons Prom — or closer to home, Mirboo North, Meeniyan, Fish Creek, and Loch for food, wandering, and local character.
DAY TRIPS
Tarra-Bulga National Park — 1 hr
Walhalla — 1 hr 15 min
Wilsons Prom — 1 hr 20 min
Mirboo North pool and Inverloch Beach — local favourites on warmer days
Guest access
You’ll have the whole property to yourselves, with easy key-safe access.
We live about three hours away, so you’ll enjoy complete privacy — but we’re always just a message or phone call away. A local caretaker is also nearby if you need assistance.
Occasionally, you may see the local farmer in the paddocks. He won’t enter the driveway or house, usually just checking on his cows.

Review C/O Google- Absolutely gorgeous property. Fleur is a kind and attentive host. Such a fantastic place to unwind. Felt very at home here. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
Review C/O Google -Loved our stay at Dufflebird Farm .. it has a quiet and peaceful feel, warm and cosy inside contrasting, on our stay, a cold and wet outside. Did not want to leave, and felt we could have stayed a week. Even a few nights felt like a total escape and a world away. Well appointed kitchen and pantry, and really comfortable couches and beds. Will definitely book again and stay for longer next visit.
Review C/O Google -Absolutely gorgeous place to relax and unwind. We thought we’d do so many day trips but ended up just hanging out, cooking, spending time soaking in the bathhouse and lounging around reading in the sun.
Review C/O Airbnb- Me and my partner had an amazing stay at Dufflebird Farm. It was exactly like the pictures. So aesthetic and peaceful. I love taking photos and videos for social media. It was STUNNING! Fleur, the host, was responsive and so friendly over the phone. We highly recommend the stay!
Thank you so much, Sauryayani. We’re thrilled you had such an amazing stay at Dufflebird Farm and that it lived up to the photos. It’s always lovely to hear guests have been inspired to capture the space for social media. The house and property tend to translate nicely on camera, with plenty of different angles to explore. A note for future guests — we’ve been receiving a few enquiries for commercial shoots and product photography, so it’s important these are flagged with us in advance as they require a separate conversation. Personal content is of course always welcome, and if you do tag us or share anything, we truly love seeing how you capture the space. You are both very welcome back at Dufflebird Farm or any of our Dufflebird properties anytime.
Review C/O Airbnb-Fleur’s Berry’s Creek hideaway was the perfect, quiet and picturesque getaway for me and my two adult children. Lots to see, do and eat in the local region, or do nothing and enjoy the beautiful house, sitting by the wood fire reading or playing a board game. Many that’s for the hospitality Fleur!
It was a pleasure hosting you again Therese, this time at Dufflebird Farm, Berrys Creek over Easter. We are so pleased you enjoyed your special time with your adult children and that the house and region provided the perfect setting for such a special occasion. We genuinely get so much joy from hosting guests like you and look forward to welcoming you back
Review C/O Airbnb -We made a last minute decision to get away for some peace and quiet. We felt very lucky to find Duffelbird Farm, it looked like the perfect place to relax, indeed it was. Beautifully styled, bright and comfortable with stunning views to the paddocks and hills beyond. Every need was catered for to switch off and enjoy the calm. The wood fire was easy to light and kept us feeling cosy. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you could need and the veranda was perfect for catching that morning sun whilst listening to the birds. The surrounding area is beautiful to drive through with spectacular views that go for miles with lots of sweet little country towns to stop for lunch or coffee. Whilst we didn’t take the opportunity to have a bath in the stunning bathhouse I wish we had, it was as lovely as in the photos. We really enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back!
Thank you so much, Fiona. We are so pleased Dufflebird Farm lived up to your hopes for peace and quiet, and likewise, thank you for being an absolute dream to host. We are so glad you enjoyed the styling and views of the countryside, and that the kitchen and wood fire helped set that slower, easier pace. We also adore the surrounding area. The little towns and back roads are some of our favourite things about the region. We look forward to welcoming you back.

Thank you so much Lydia. Guests like you make hosting so rewarding. We'd love to welcome you back again and again.
Review C/O Airbnb- Pure perfection. The attention to detail is next level - everything is beautiful, from the bed linens, to the crockery, to the views. It was an exquisite experience, wouldn’t hesitate to book again!
